Barnums Edge Glastonbury To Cap Strong Weekend

The Bridgeport Barnums defeated the Glastonbury Arrows 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Park in Bridgeport.
The win capped a strong weekend for the Barnums, who won on Friday and took two on Saturday, before coming up with Sunday's win.
On Friday, the defeated Simsbury 7-2 and on Saturday, they defeated Western Massachusetts 11-1 and 10-6.
As for Sunday, Bridgeport got out to a 3-0 lead, as the scored two in the first inning and one in the second inning. Glasonbury then scored two in the third.
That would be all the scoring for the game.
Phil Hogan and Joey Sanguiolo were solid on the mound for the Barnums. Hogan picked up the win, allowing two runs on six hits over four innings while striking out five and walking one. Sanguiolo threw three perfect innings striking out four, to earn the save.
In the first, Will Stellato, who was three-for-three on the day, singled to left to lead off the inning. He moved to second on a wild pitch and third on a groundout.
Stellato came in to score on a line-drive single to center by Joey D'Elia.
Later in the inning, with Blake Benway at first, Michael Hernandez tripled to the left field corner and Benway came all the way around to score.
In the second, it was Stellato again. After Bridgeport loaded the bases with two outs, Stellato singled to right field to bring home the third and final Barnums run.
Bridgeport is back in action on Wednesday at Wallingford. The Barnums return home when they return to Seaside Park on Saturday versus Waterbury at 12pm.
