Waterbury Tops Bridgeport Behind Big First Inning
Waterbury scored four runs in the top of the first and two more in the second en route to a 7-1 victory over the Bridgeport Barnums on Thursday evening at Seaside Park in Bridgeport.
Bridgeport got their run in the fourth. Will Stellato walked to lead off the inning.
Blake Benway reached on an error moving Stellato to third. The next batter Ian Nilsen grounded out to shortstop to bring home Stellato and get the Barnums on the board. That is all they would get.
The Barnums will be back in action on Friday vs Wallingford at Cheshire at 5:30. Bridgeport will return home for the regular season finale on Wednesday at 5:45 vs Hamden.
