Pitching, Small Ball Lifts Barnums Past Hamden

Ian Nilsen's walk-off sacrifice fly lifted the Bridgeport Barnums past the Hamden Miners 3-2 on Thursday evening at Seaside Park in Bridgeport. 

Three walks and a line out in between in the seventh led to Nielsen's sacrifice fly to center field to score Jose Vasquez. 

Hamden scored a run in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead. 

The Barnums tied the game in the bottom of the second. 

Cam Forte singled leading off the inning. Nick Piscioniere walked. Two batters late Christian Nilsen hit a sacrifice fly to score Forte. 

Hamden took the lead back in the top of the fourth before Bridgeport tied it in the bottom half. 

With Will Stellato at second and two outs Piscioniere singled to right field to plate Stellato. 

The pitching of Evan Rossi, Jackson Geisler, Luke Stasko and Harry Tavella was sold for the Barnums allowing just one earned run on four hits, while striking out seven.
