Barnums Edge Waterbury in Low-Scoring Game

There weren't a lot of hits, but the hits the Bridgeport Barnums did get were timely in their 2-1 win over the Waterbury Silverbacks on Tuesday night at Seaside Park in Bridgeport. The Barnums were outhit by Waterbury, five to four, but two of the four hit and both RBI came off the bat of Captain Will Stellato. With two outs and a runner at third, Stellato hit a line drive the bounded off the pitcher and towards third base for an infield hit, allowing Jose Vasquez to score from third. In the fourth, after Vasquez walked and stole second with one out, Stellato lined a ball deep to right field for an RBI triple to extend the Barnums lead to 2-0. Jimmy Muthersbaugh was stellar on the mound for the Barnums. He threw five innings of three-hit baseball while striking out two and walking none.
